FIA Signs MoU with ODPOD

The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Office of Director of Public Officers Declarations(ODPOD) to enable the two agencies exchange financial intelligence related to money laundering, terrorist financing and financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The MoU was signed by Directors of the two agencies at Sunbird Capital Hotel, Lilongwe on 23th August,2017. The signing of this MoU means that the FIA now has 21 MoUs with other FIUs and agencies. In December 2016, the FIA signed MoUs with Japan Financial Intelligence Center (JAFIC) and Malagasy Financial Intelligence Service (SAMIFIN), Madagascar’s FIU and sierra Leone FIU .
